Gidday,
Have 2 computers. The 2nd PC running XP Pro SP2 connects to the internet via the 1st (XP Home SP2) just fine but neither can see the other. 1st machine can ping the 2nd using its IP address and computer name. It also can ping itself using its IP address and name. The 2nd PC can ping the 1st using its IP address but cannot find the name of the 1st PC. DNS addresses have been configured correctly on both PCs and ping just fine. Any clues?
Thanks
Peter

Re: Host Name Resolution Problem
Got a solution.
Went to Advanced TCP/IP settings, WINS tabs in the 2nd PC and inserted the IP address of the 1st PC in WINS Addresses. Everthing ok now.
Thought this stuff was suppose to getitng easier! Hopes this helps some else.
