Doom 3 freezes (3 posts)

Hi,

I am playing Doom 3 (well, trying to). It could be 10 mins into the game or half an hour and the computer will freeze up. Can you help please?

Some specs are: AMD Athlon 1.2ghz, 512mg, 40g HD, Radeon 9200SE 128mg. Thank you.

Hi,

How good are you at pulling things apart and putting them back together? I have seen similar problems with 2 of my cards: a GF2 ti and an FX5200. I fixed both by removing the video card, removing the heatsinks and fans, removing the thermal paste off the GPU and off the heatsinks. Applied new thermal paste and put everything back on.

Try not to break anything.
