Windows Server network set-up (3 posts)

Hello,

I am trying to setup a network for training purposes. I have setup a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition as a domain controller with Active Directory configured as (nwtraders.msft). This system has two NICs. I want to use the internal NIC to connect to a 12 ports hub and have the ten Windows XP client computers connect to the hub. The client computers get their IP addresses through my DHCP server.

The DHCP server assigns IP addresses ranging from 192.168.1.1 through 192.168.1.254 with the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

All client PC computers are added to the domain (nwtraders.msft). The 2nd NIC on my server is connected to the live port and can connect to the Internet. The 2nd NIC get IP address dynamically from the LAN network.

The LAN network IP addresses are in 10.0.0.1 ranges. Now, I want to have XP client computers to be able to get to the Internet as well.

Is it something doable? If yes, how can I configure this.

Re: Windows Server network set-up

Simplest is to plug the broadband modem into one nic, set up ICS and plug the router into the other nic. If it is a trainer, this will be adequate. ICS organizes basic DHCP and everyone will be able to connect.

Of course, you will remove DHCP server in Manage Your Server in this case.
