I have a DOS app which uses NetBIOS. It is reporting NetBIOS error 35 "Invalid Adapter Number" when I try to run it on a Compaq DeskPro with Win2000. It works fine on an IBM PC with Win 2000. What is the NetBIOS error about?

Firstly WINS is used for resolving NETbios names to IP addresses and reduces broadcast traffic. Netbios name resolution is required for win9x. However, this is not a requirement with win2k.

I have solved this problem
My DOS app was dependant on LANA numbers, and I downloaded a LANA configuration tool from corporate.windowsupdate.microsoft.com which let me fiddle with the numbers so my app would work.
