Photo Printing Wizard (4 posts)

I used to be able to plug in my digital camera and the Photo Prinitng Wizrd would allow me to download, save or print pictures. However, when I plug in my camera now, I don't have a photo printing option. Can you help?

Re: Photo Printing Wizard

Paulette,

If you want someone to help you, it's usually a good idea to provide some details about your problem. What brand of camera you have, what version of Windows, what software have you recently added/removed from your computer, etc.

For a photo printing program to automatically pop-up when you plug in your camera, there will usually be a 'background' application that runs at startup, and whose icon appears in your system tray (tell me if I'm using terms you don't understand, and I'll re-explain for a novice). As you hover your mouse pointer over the various icons in the system tray, they will usually pop-up a name giving you a hint about what that icon does.

If you don't have such a system tray icon for your camera, chances are either the software has been uninstalled from your computer, or it has somehow been removed from the 'startup' list.

Either way, if you're a novice, probably the best way to fix it is re-install the camera's software from the original CD-ROM.

Let us know if this fixes your problem, or if I'm on the wrong track.

Regards, Daniel

Hi Paulette,

A couple of questions for you.

1. When you connect the camera, does the PC register the camera as a removable drive in Windows Explorer?

2. Have you recently added any new hard drives or optical drives?

3. What O/s are you using?

Re: Photo Printing Wizard

I have a new Dell with Windows Vista. When we hooked it up I had Windows Gallery instead of Wizard.

It's absolutely horrible to use not nearly as good as Wizard, I want to know if there is any way I can get the wizard on this computer. I also want to say I'm 61 yrs of age and know very little about computers.

Respectfully, Georgia Fountain
