Which CPU? (4 posts)

I have just recently bought a GIGABYTE P4 Titan Motherboard GA-8S661FXM-775. And was wondering what CPU you recommend to get the most out of this motherboard?

Re: Which CPU?

Without looking on the giga-byte site for supported CPUs, why on earth would you buy a mobo without knowing what it could use? Obviously the highest spec CPU it can use in your price range is the answer, but what if that is no longer available? (OK I looked - P4 775 pin - still current, no problem).

Re: Which CPU?

The CPU that give you the best performance is the fastest one. How much money have you got?

You should be aware that the rev1.x version of this motherboard does not support some processors the rev 2.0 version does.

Re: Which CPU?

The question is, why buy a motherboard first!

Check the GIGABYTE site for info on the board.

http://www.gigabyte.com.au/Motherboard/Support/CPUSupportList/CPUSupportList_GA-8S661FXM-775%20(Rev%201.x).htm

This will list the CPU's that the board will support, there are a lot.

It depends on how mush you want to spend and do with this MB

Good luck
