Error 0x8004210B Email stays in Inbox (14 posts)

Hey Guys,

I have an issue similar to another user... My email stays in my inbox even though it is sent, but displays a timed out error code 0x8004210B. It continues to keep trying to send and recipients end up receiving messages multiple times. It mainly only happens with attachments larger then 1MB.

I have my AV set to NOT scan outgoing, have contacted my ISP and MS with no luck on a fix.

I have Office 2007 and Vista and would appreciate any ideas that may help. Thanks Troy

Just to let you know about the problem I had with Office 2003- The same error code appeared and the message was still in the out box BUT, I found out later, after retransmitting that the message HAD ACTUALLY GONE.

All attempts to solve the isue failed and I reformatted. I also now use Thunderbird.

Do you have any mail rules set up? if so, review them carefully.

Guys,

If you Google - you'll find heaps of hits on this error. Even a couple leading to MS. When I had the problem with Outlook 2003, I tried all sorts of remedies but sadly none appeared to work.

Reformatted and reloaded.

Good luck

It happens to me too.

I archived my folders and checked my firewalls. It was my windows firewall and my trend firewall conflicting

Guys,

Just to let you know that this issue it had has yet to be resolved. This is despite re-formatting three times. I even bought a registry cleaner that said that it would fix the problem- it didn't and I asked and got my money back.

I'm at wits end with the problem. I have even had a bit of a war with my ISP over the issue. I'm thinking that it could be a combination of my PC and the performance of the network itself that could cause such an error.

I've checked my settings umpteen times. Tried WITHOUT AV installed and NO FIREWALL. Created new e-mail accounts. Changed my e-mail profile. I just don't know where it will end.

If you Google the error, you'll find innuerable posts. I have gone through a good number of them with no resolution.

It's also an issue with ALL flavours of Outlook so what are my chances if I install my Office 2007??

Guys,

I believe that I have resolved the issue. I posted this problem on Outlook 2003 in 2007 and have been suffering with it ever since. I even installed Outlook 2007 in an effort to resolve it- all to no avail. I trolled through innumerable Google responses without success.

Contacted my ISP about the issue (and others) and they indicated that this error relates to the e-mail client rather than any server issue.

What I did was increase the 'Server Time-out' period to the MAX (5 minutes) and since then have not had any errors (I had previously increased the time-out period slightly but had no improvement and so ignored this avenue).

Hi Guys,

We experienced this issue on several workstations XP workstations all at once. We believe that our email provider upgraded their outbound mailers.

We have a mix of MS Office 2003/2007 - both had been failing.

Each of our workstations send mail and recieve mail using POP3/SMTP. We applied XP OS SP3 to resolve this issue.

See my previous post where I fixed my long-standing issue by nincreasing the 'Server Time-out' period.

Since then I have had NO ERRORS at all.

All Googled fixes failed to remedy the problem.
