Current aspect ratios are crazy (7 posts)

Who decided to make all current model monitors in the widescreen format that distorts everything, especially pictures, by horizontal elongation?

There should be no stretching

If you've set up the correct resolution on your monitor, there should be no stretching.

The common resolution for 22in monitors is 1680x1050, while for 24in, 26in, 27in monitors that do full high definitionm, it's 1920x1200.

Personally i love the widescreen monitors as i can space my work out across the screen much easier.

As for who decided to make them all widescreen, well... it was probably the movie studios and game developers.

widescreen is great

Ghost is right, and wide screens can also display two full doc pages together.

Wide Screen Monitors

I have a Dell monitor and the screen resolution is as follows:

Down: 1152 Across: 2048

typical dell owner answer. down and across lol

Smoking Crack

Open up your display properties goto display and move the resolution bar all the way to the right, as high as it will go. That is your correct Aspect ratio/resolution.

It's your fault everything is blurry and out of focus. Your either smoking crack or the words and letters were to small.

I'd probably open up the display properties again goto advanced then DPi and set it to 120 so the words and buttons are Huge enough for you to read.

If its still that difficult to fix. I'd probably consider going back to a older CRT (glass screen) monitor that can display any resolution correctly.

I'd explain the reason for this but i'm sure if you have trouble making the correct settings the technical terms would go over your head.

kindly explain we are here to understand this....
