Kogan Kevin37 (4 posts)

I'm thinking of purchasing Kogan's $900 'Kevin37' LCD. The model is Full HD and has a 6ms response time. Here's some further info from the Kogan website -

The Kogan KEVIN37 features:

* Full High Definition TV: 1920 x 1080 pixels (16:9)
* Built in HD Digital Tuner
* HDMI input
* Connects easily to PS3, Xbox36, Blu-Ray devices
* Four High Definition inputs including HDMI/DVI
* Teletext (including closed captions)
* Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)
* 12 month on-site warranty - optional extended warranty

Basically, does it sound like it's worth the money? I'm still using an old CRT and don't know much about high-def televisions. Would I be better off spending more for a big brand model, or are these guys pretty legit?

Personally, I definitely think it's worth the money. It's got all the right specs for a seriously good price. Some of the specs like contrast aren't as crash hot as other brands - not by a long shot when you consider top-of-the-line Samsung models quote contrast ratios of 2 MILLION to 1 - but for $900 I think it's a steal.

Kogan recently upped the specs to 1080p Full HD at no extra cost to customers. I think this is a really customer-minded move in a time where they could have easily attempted to charge more for it.

Kogan are pretty good with their return policy, so why not give it a go? At least you'll be keeping your stimulus money in the Australian economy! :)
