Has anyone out there tried the Alcatel OT990? I like the look of it as a potential first smart phone but I've found it hard to find any meaningful reviews. Is it any good? Would you recommend it? What are its pros & cons? Will it become available in 2.3 Gingerbread soon? Is it possible to buy an unlocked unit in Australia? Any information anyone can provide would be extremely helpful!!

I'm using one. it's my 1st smartphone. I like it. At this stage it has what I want from a smartphone. I installed Chinese input, Japanese Input, QQplayer to play flash files, instinctive to play music including wma files. I have not found a problem with it (well, maybe bluetooth, I failed to transfer files between phone and computer by bluetooth. audio connection seems working though).

the device has bluetooth 3.0, most of the other devices have 2.0 or 2.1, which means you can only send data via bluetooth, you cant recieve though
