The Japanese National Institute of Information and Communications Technology [NICT] is developing a 3D display which will allow owners to view a picture from all angles.

NICT has already developed a prototype of the display, which is to be named gCubik.

The prototype of the box-like display is capable of outputting a still 3D image, but NICT is determined to adapt the display to show images which move in real-time.

The institute hopes to launch the product within the next three years. NICT spokespeople envisage the gCubik will have use in the fields of education and industrial design, and for game machines.
