Reviews: Project Arcade: Build Your Own Arcade Machine
Based on previous experience from building my own arcade cabinet, recreation of a classic arcade system can be a tricky affair. A great deal of information is available on the Internet from other people's examples, but never in one centralised location. This is where this book comes into the picture.

Reviews: eBay PowerUser's Bible
Targeted at new and experienced eBay users alike, this book by Greg Holden is the ultimate guide book on everything and anything to do with eBay. Being a novice eBay user, I was interested to see if this book would help me understand the fundamentals of online bidding and how not to get duped by some of the artificial sales that everyone hears about. The fact that there is a diverse range of things available for purchase is why eBay still remains popular to this day.

Reviews: Book Review: Google - The Missing Manual
Google is one of the most powerful and most widely-used search engines in the world. The actual word, Google, has even become a verb, meaning 'to search'. There are even examples of people describing how they searched for information on prospective partners by 'googling' them.

Reviews: Book Review: Always Use Protection-- A Teen's Safe Guide To Computing
The Internet is a great resource tool that contains oodles of information and can be used by people of all ages, genders and races. For the uninitiated, though, it can yield unexpected nasties and surprises. This book is about computer security and privacy, providing all the information needed in one easily-accessible place.

Reviews: Book Review: Does IT matter?
Times have changed for IT. Is there really anyone who has looked at the consolidation in the IT market, the slowing of IT sales growth, the decline of IT profit margins, and who hasn't realised something bad - at least in relative terms for the IT industry - was happening? Microsoft and Sun Microsystems are becoming friends, for crying out loud.

Reviews: Ultimate Zero and One
Conventional computer designs are identical in principle to those of the 1940s, only smaller and faster. Beyond this conventional technology lies a new, barely explored realm of quantum computing, which works on fundamentally different principles. Among these is the property of superposition, which means that a quantum device can be in more than one logical state at the same time.

Reviews: Book review: Teach Yourself Visually Windows XP Special Media Edition
Since their creation, the popularity of the Teach Yourself Visually books has expanded exponentially due to their simplicity and ease of use. Some people tend to digest information and instructions better if they are shown visually what to do instead of being presented with a text-based version describing the process. The series takes a more hands-on approach to all subjects, allowing readers to follow the action with screenshots, pictures and highlighted sections.

Reviews: Book review: How to Do Everything with Your iPod & iPod mini Second Edition
There aren’t many digital audio players on the market that warrant having a book written about them, and after reading through How to Do Everything with Your iPod & iPod mini Second Edition, I am convinced that even the iPod is not worthy of its own book. At least, not this one.

Reviews: Book review: Mac OS X Panther Edition — The Missing Manual
Mac OS X made its debut three years ago and is now on its third major revision, called Panther. It’s time for OS 9 holdouts to think seriously about junking the Classic operating system and making the switch.

Reviews: Book Review: Upgrading and Repairing Laptops
From Scott Mueller — the author who so far has brought us 15 editions of Upgrading and Repairing PCs — inevitably comes a technical manual dedicated to the notebook computer. This book is much like an encyclopedia for notebook computers in that it also covers all that there is to know about the history of portable computers and the different types of notebooks that have been available since the 1980s.

Reviews: Books: Dr. Mac The OS X Files Panther Edition
The big thing about Macs was that — supposedly — you could sit a newbie down in front of one and three nanoseconds later they’d have the system down. But now there are two problems with that: Windows XP, which is a jolly nice operating system, and Mac OS X, which is even nicer but hides a scary UNIX core beneath that sexy brushed aluminium interface.
