The Hitachi 32LD960DTA performed brilliantly in high definition and had only a handful of minor problems in standard definition.

The LG 42LC2DR is a good mid-range unit with an integrated HDTV tuner and DVR and only a handful of image quality problems when viewing HD content.

While the price is rather high, the Sharp LC52GD7X is easily the best 1080p television we have reviewed.

The LC37AW5X is a quite a good television but it is not up to the same standard as its predecessors. It performs well in both Standard and High Definition, but has some sharpening issues and poor connectivity support which stop it from scoring higher.

Good looks, good audio and excellent connection options do not make up for the below average image quality, especially at this price point.

For watching Blu-Ray, HD-DVD movies, or playing HD games consoles, the Samsung LA46F71BX performs quite well, although its DVD playback leaves a little to be desired.

The LG 37LC2D is quite good when compared to other mid-range and similarly priced units but is certainly not the best unit on the market

For the price point, the TEAC LCD3733A is a reasonable unit that offers good performance when viewing DVDs in SD while also delivering favorable results in HD too.

The Samsung LA40S71B is a great alternative to the R series, for those that don’t want or need a digital tuner.

If you want to watch DVDs or SDTV the Sharp 32AF3X will do the job nicely.

At a reasonable price point, the 47 inch Toshiba 47WL66 REGZA LCD is a mid-range LCD television that has some nice features and a good array of inputs but falls short on image quality.

The BenQ VA371 excels in high definition but will also handle watching DVDs without any major problems.
