About The Role

Deakin University’s Centre for Cyber Security Research delivers outstanding research relevant to cyberspace, network and system security. We now wish to see the centre move to the next phase in its development by significantly expanding its linkages to industry and to government, nationally, regionally and globally. To reflect this expanded scope we will re-badge the Centre as the Centre for Cyber Security Solutions and appoint, as the next Director, an individual with the vision, skills, experience and networks to lead the Centre in the continued production of outstanding cyber security research but also position Deakin as the preferred partner for industry and government in the delivery of innovative solutions to the cyber security challenges facing modern society.

The position will represent Deakin University at the highest level within industry, government and academic networks in Australia and internationally.


This will include:

- Contributing to the further development of Deakin as a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence that is client responsive and financially viable, generating significant commercial and competitive research income through strong and effective partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders, including customers, sponsors and granting bodies.

- Planning, managing and being responsible for the effective development and allocation of resources to achieve key strategic research initiatives.

- Leading the formulation and development of next generation technologies and solutions for cyber security.

- Coordination and management of stakeholder engagement, communications and relationships on key projects.


About You

- A relevant PhD with a record of research and publication in a discipline related to cyber security, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.

- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing the commercialisation of new technology in the area of cyber security.

- Outstanding interpersonal skills that will allow the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships, particularly with other leaders within the University, with researchers, and with members of the wider community.

For me, the Xbox Play Anywhere is a great new feature as it allows you to play your current Xbox games with higher resolutions and better graphics without forking out extra cash for another copy. Although available titles are still scarce, but I’m sure it will grow in time.
