Best Multifunction - laser or inkjet?

Hi there
We wish to purchase a multifunction colour printer/copier/scanner/fax - price up to about $700-800.
Which is best and most economical - inkjet or laser?
What is the most economical in regards to toner/cartridge replacement?
Print speed is not necessarily a priority.
Good quality scanning and printing is more important.
Capability to read a camera memory card would be an advantage but not crucial.
Needs to be networked between 2 PC's.
Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris, If print and scan

Hi Chris,

If print and scan quality are a priority (particularly for colour), then I'd suggest you go with a network-capable inkjet multifunction. Most will come with a multi-card reader, possibly even Wi-Fi and, depending on model, will sometimes have reasonably priced consumables. I'd personally suggest you research and compare the HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless and Canon PIXMA MX860. Let us know if there are any other priorities, so we can help you out more.

Thanks
