I had this laptop for quite a while and it's really helpful. It's easy to carry around and not too heavy. It's really fast and handy for emergency moments. It takes a few seconds to switch on to my desktop.

Touchscreen, Battery life, Speed with handling multiple tasks and Price

Purchased the v5 four months ago and haven't had a problem with it. Mainly used to do uni work, web browsing, downloading/watching music & tv shows and a bit of gaming. I have a bad habit of always having too many browser tabs open but it seems able to handle it. Purchased for $570 and then received a $79 cashback from Acer I'd say it was a bargain. Very happy with it, no complaints from me.

Touchscreen is a nice feature, battery life is good.
Had some problems at first with freezing and flickering

I love my Acer aspire v5 touchscreen laptop. I've had it for 4 months, first 2-3 weeks it had some problems freezing up and screen flickering but I had a windows message come up to 'refresh' my laptop so I did it and I've had no problems since! Absolutely love it.

I bought acer aspire laptop in December 2012, its battery life is max. 1 hour 40 min's. when on charge, on charging side -it gets so hot that can't take in lap. i am disappointed and even they never return/change. I bought from hervey norman and they said i have to show this in outside. i spoiled $$$. just recommend to everyone- DON'T BUY ANY ACER LAPTOP :(

I had gone through two of these of computers in three months because the very poorly made touchscreens stopped working. The computer also ran slow and constantly froze on me. I really discourage anyone from buying this computer.

Bought this 14" V 5 laptop last month. Had non responsive touch screen and several other issues. Called Acer. They tried to fix these problems by factory improvement ...change to get another new one...touch screen is ok, but wireless disconnected again and again...screen flickering at the edge....some times wavy movement during reading emails...very annoying ...battery charge remains around 2.30 hours....will call Acer again...and will try to get my money experience is very bad with this laptop...

Had a V5 touch for a month and took it back to the store. Wireless continually dropped out when moved more than about 3m from router rendering the unit virtually useless. Numerous calls to ACER, various drivers tried, changed to brand new wireless-n router, nothing worked. Eventually ACER had me download some diagnostic software to prove the wireless hardware was the issue. Following this I got a full refund from the retailer.
Before you buy check out the ACER website blogs, it seems wireless issues with this unit are not uncommon!

I found the touch screen nice and responsive. Windows8 works well on it and battery life is good.
Found curser a bit jumpy with touch pad also and pinch function useful.

Buying the 15.6in for $590aud for University study I have found this too be a great buy. It sits nic andely next to the Macs and I would say looks better than have gotten some comments from those mac users with its crisp look and ability to swap and change from function to function using the touch screen, which works quite responsively. Running Windows8 is fun to use on this computer compared with those that do not have the touch screen functions and have found myself already ahead in it's use after a week compared with those that have been using it all year. The screen does not look as good as the retina display but for the price half that of macs I can deal with that. I mainly use it to do word documents, power points, web browsing and emails which was my intentions as I have a PS3 to play games.
It's not the quickest computer but for my intended uses I don't mind waiting a few minutes extra to burn a DVD occasionally. The nice size keyboard which is backlit looks great and is comfortable to use. It's extremely light compared to my old laptop (3 yrs old) and have found it to be quite user friendly. even though theres no START button in the corner anymore. I run 4g internet at home and find it to be pretty quick with it's downloads
for under $600 bucks it was a great buy for my purposes. and it looks pretty good too.

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
