Acer Iconia A1-830 Android tablet review

Acer has made a great 7.9in tablet, but it lingers behind its established rivals.

Everything but maximum screen brightness!
As mentioned slightly lower maximum screen brightness compared to Ipad mini

Totally happy customer! Runs everything that i throw at it, runs smooth, quick, very fluid! Screen has the same resolution as the Ipad mini's but with better contrast ratio and deeper maximum black level!
If you like the Ipad mini, get this! Does all the things just as smooth as all my family and friends Ipad mini's can, yet costs less! This tablet has a better looking screen (except for slightly lower maximum brightness compared to the Ipad mini) with better contrast ratio and deeper blacks than the Ipad mini, with the same aspect ratio and screen resolution as the Ipad mini! My Isheep friends who are normally anti anything not Apple (they drive me nuts with it sometimes), where not only amazed this was not an Ipad (it does look similar with the alloy back and screen ratio) but they freaked when they realized the screen looked better when indoors than their Ipad mini's, and it could do all that their Ipad mini's could (including read e-pubs lol) for only $197 from Officeworks! My sister who owns the Ipad mini with retina display could only stand in awe and say "wow" at screen quality of this tablet (vibrant colors, deep blacks) and say in a grumpy tone "well mine does have better resolution!" When i told her the price i paid and that i had a Micro SD card full of movies in my tablet she mumbled on about "icloud" and how via WiFi she could view her movies on her Ipad!" Ipad mini eater!

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
