i have had this machine for over two years , its fast , never had any issue with it at all , from what im reading , i must be the lucky one . i did replace the video card for a better one . also i live in canada , and it has a slightly diffrent configuration, no bluray , or tv tuner card . i added a bluray burner and a 2tb storage drive , no problem to install . all in all very good desktop , i would buy another but there is no need its fast enough to do anything from games to being hooked to a 52 inch tv with 7.1 . i use this basically for entertainment and games .

been in for repairs 5 times in 18 months. main issue is it shutsdown/restarts randomly until it crashes. replaced ram/power supply but that wasn't the issue. motherboard was obviously defective from day one. This is my second acer thats been a total dud. acer makes junk. never again.

I bought an Acer Aspire M5811 based on the fact that it had 1TB of space and 6 Gigs of RAM with 9 ports and a 6 Core processor. I had an Acer monitor for years and never had a problem so I thought it would be a good little machine. It's very fast which I like but ss soon as I got it home, the system began to crash. It was annoying after the first few times but when it continued every day at least 3 or 4 times a day, it has become a royal pain in the ass. Also, the 9 ports they advertised are all in the worst places. 4 are on the top of the tower and the other 5 are at the rear. To add to the inconvenience, sometimes when I reach above me to plug in a flash drive, I hist the on - off button for the machine and accidentally shut it down, as if it wasn't shutting down often enough by itself. I also don't like the "sleep" feature. At least that's what this machine does. It goes into sleep mode and you cannot tell if it is on or off which has lead me to turn it off inadvertently, (it just crashed as I was typing this - very frustrating) I would have taken it back to the store shortly after buying it but the store (Staples) told me it would have to be sent back to the manufacturer. Screw that, I may never see the thing again. If anybody has a clue as to why this machine is constantly crashing, I'd appreciate some input. Thanks!
