Using for personal stuff at home. I just today replaced the toner for the first time (since the starter toner was replaced) after 3+ years. Sure saves on ink!

Bought this machine in 3/2009 as a less expensive alternative to a new toner cartridge for another machine I own, as was busy & couldn't go to store (it shipped "free"). Since then , it has been used on every computer system in my company at one time or another. Text quality is excellent down to "single digit point" fonts, speed and time to first page are both good.It currently has replaced an $800 medium duty mono laser machine of another make that died after warranty ran out. Through all its use and abuse, the drum is finally on its way out. replacement drums cost more than a replacement machine. When it goes, I suspect I will buy a HL2240 to replace it.With apologies to the Late Alan Sherman, our 2140 is "Our Precious Little Bruddah."

purchased this HL-2140 printer awhile back, didnt last 6mths. i think its the heating "element" of the ink died, back using the little bubblejet now.

Cannot recommend this thing enough. 1000+ pages and I still haven't needed to refill it. If you're a highschool/college/business type, this is the way to go.
