Had this laptop for two and a half years and it was working fine up until I erased the hard drive to install linux. I had to change some settings in the BIOS, but my BIOS ADMIN password wasn't accepted. Really long phone call with Dell and a lot of time wasted and it turns out the motherboard experienced a failure. They want me to pay 419 dollars for a refurbished mobo to fix this problem (since, of course, my warranty is expired). Will never buy Dell again.

It is hard to say anything bad about this laptop. I got the same exact system that is reviewed here for $409!

I just acquired the Dell 3700 and am just installing Win 7 32-bit on it - from what I could figure, I ran some DJ software and video editing software and there was a bit of lag compared to my SSD T3500 - but then again, the Workstation is much more powerful so overall the 3700 is quite good. I will install 64-bit on it next week and see if I have any difference. In all, I like it, especially when it was free...
