I've had this laptop a few months now, and I bought it to use at college. I really wanted a nice, attractive laptop with an i5 or better processer, 8 gb memory, 1 tb hard drive, and good battery life, and since my family all has Dells and they had good experiences, I chose this over a Lenovo IdeaPad. Plus, there was a student deal at the time and I got a free tablet with the purchase. Since I started using the laptop, I've been really happy with it. I got the version without touch screen because I didn't feel like I'd ever want to use the function, and I've never felt like I needed or wanted touch screen, so I made the right choice for me. The laptop is gorgeous, really simple and minimalist with a brushed, chrome lid, and a tapered look. It fits (barely) in the laptop compartment of my new Herschel bag, which has a 15" pocket. I haven't had any technical problems thus far, and I haven't had any strange things like excessive heat or anything. The last computer I had (an HP Pavilion desktop) was an absolute nightmare, broken from the start, the hard drive and three core processors and other parts were just complete failures, so I'm on my toes waiting for this computer to fall apart on me, but it's been great!

People need to change their mentality against dell with this laptop. Got it on sale worked like a charm.
perhaps the best value for the design and specs for this machine. I would definitely recommend this product if you are looking for powerful machine at a reasonable cost.

Cons
Defective product, Poor customer service.

After now my second dead Dell Inspiron 15 5000 laptop within about a month, I strongly urge any potential buyers to spend your money else where.

My first laptop died within a week, and after much hassle with receiving my replacement due to poor customer service from DELL, my replacement laptop died within a similar timeframe.

After reading someone else's review elsewhere with the same issue, there is an obvious manufacturing defect with these laptops.

I do not recommend this product to potential buyers.

I got this laptop on sale for $679 after tax. So far I like the form factor and design of this laptop. The use of aluminum cover gave it a more premium look than other laptops in its price range. I'm not impressed with the utilization of the screen space as the display doesn't fully fit the screen. The keyboard provided good feedback but I would like them to be bigger. The hard drive located in the front right side of the laptop can become noticibly hot. The battery life I found lasts around 6 hours, which is still quite good. The glossy plastic used to enclose the display had weird reflections due to poor manufacturing processes which can make the laptop look cheap. The wavemaxx speakers are really average and provides generic sound quality. The plastic chassis sometime creaks during handling. In future iteration of this laptop, I want like see a 1080p display, backlit keyboard, and a better hard drive.

Pros
Sleek with touch
Cons
Software is a nightmare! No drive and bios is buggy
• • •

1st day using it, windows update disabled and keeps disabling itself when enabled, same for security center and windows defender (yes I am enabling it using the services screen run as admin, good luck for mums and dads..). Cannot activate windows and cannot add features by upgrading with an new (MSDN) serial. Can not do a factory restore (stuck in infinite loop) and cannot install a fresh clean copy of windows (asks for driver and no bios options other than ahci)

Initially thought the specs looked ok for the cash and was told by the sales staff that the ram was in 1 stick only but turns out the 8GB of ram is actually already spread across the 2 slots so would have to replace both sticks if wanting to upgrade.

I hate this laptop - I hate DELL!!! Stay away..............

Pros
Solid core components, slim, long battery life
Cons
10/100 ethernet

I've had this for about a week now, and I'm very satisfied with this. It would be nice to have gigabit ethernet, but so far that's the biggest downside. Not having an optical drive is pretty standard, and there are other models to choose from if that's a must-have.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
