This laptop is a dud. Sorry but it is. The wireless network connectivity is poor to non existent when not plugged in (great) its range is pathetic when it is. the keyboard and mousepad are horrible and I'm continually finding my cursor jumping around almost inexplicably. I put a SSD drive in it and when taking it apart was so sad to see the poor plastic build quality. USB only on LHS and where is my mouse and 99% of mice on the RHS. After years of buying dells this has done it and my wife's XPS video card problems = NO MORE DELL. Going to HP and good riddance.

The keyboard is incredibly uncomfortable - if you must do lots of typing, this laptop IS NOT for you.
Keys are missing, which makes shortcuts more awkward and slow
Cursor constantly skips around for no reason

This is my second 15z, Dell send me a new one after all my complaints. I am still unhappy and hoping to sell this one.

"Still, a resolution of 1920x1200 would be better": Welcome to Earth star traveller. It would be, but it won't. Have you been to the shops lately? In case you haven't noticed, the primary purpose of a laptop is to to watch Sony Blue-Crap movies without horrendously nasty tiny black bands on the top and bottom, even at the expense of having 10% less vertical space for EVERYTHING ELSE. I hope you come in peace, but if you wish to zap with your laser cannon all the display makers who collectively took a massive dump on our choices and are spewing away that 16:9 format as the ONLY option - do a thorough job, please?

In case you have just arrived from the Moon, "1920x1200" would be better, but it won't, just because all hardware makers decided you don't need one, and this is THE BIG TREND PC WORLD, PCMAG OR WHATEVER HAVE NEVER EVER NOTICED OR COMMENTED ON. I guess this article has just slipped past the Sell "True HD" Crap For Your Advertisers sensorship team.

Keyboard Bad

The keyboard is awful. I type a lot for work, and it is bad. I had the machine for 1 day and am sending it back. Was to replace my old XPS M1530, not even close from an ease of use. My wife also thought it was bad. Will be fighting Dell about their 15% return as the sales rep told me it would be the same as my current XPS.

Highly suggest you not buy one until you can try it first - which of course is not possible right now.

"Chrome" Lining, Back of LCD Screen

I got this laptop a few weeks ago and have never been happier with a laptop in my life. Since I don't play video games, I went with the base model and the 1080p upgrade. For the price I couldn't find another alternative that offers the same specifications. Although the editor did not like the keyboard, I have found that it is a pleasure to type on and is well lit. It runs all of my programs that I need smoothly and has a very good battery life. Surfing the web, working on projects, and watching video clips on line, I get a solid 6 hours of battery life.

My only complaints are; that the chrome lining around the computer is made out of plastic and detracts from the look, and the back of the LCD has too much flex. Besides those two small issues I love this laptop. Even compared to my MBP 13" it gives it a run for it's money.

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
