This isn't a terrible camera, but it failed to impress. The main reason I bought it was because it was supposedly rugged and waterproof. I've taken this camera snorkelling 4-5 times and each time it malfunctioned afterwards, even when the seals looked perfectly dry inside. I thought I'd just got a lemon, but I sent it back and had it tested and apparently it meets their standards. It's put me off buying panasonic.

The FT2 leaked on its first underwater outing despite fastidious attention to all the recommended rinsing and drying and brushing. Panasonic tested it under warranty and found no fault so sent it back unchanged. All photos are foggy and the camera is useless. Do not buy Panasonic if you want to take underwater photos.
