We've had our HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Series printer for one year. After about eight or nine months we started getting frquent paper jams. Then it died altogether. None of the diagnostics worked, we called HP tech support who after about an hour of reboots and diagnostics, told us it was defective. They sent us a reconditioned unit, which turned out to be just the guts and we had to transfer the cover and other components to. OK! The reconditioned unit worked for three months - dying the day the warranty expired.
The Geek squad guy told us that the printer has a weak paper-feed motor that burns out at the first paper jam. We've had it with HP printers.
