Limited support for file types over WiFi

I bought a Sony SMP-N100 as a replacement for my Kaiser Baas Wi-Fi Media Player.

I decided to make the upgrade for a couple of features that the Sony offered; the XrossMedia user interface, the nice remote and the unobtrusive lights on the front.
(The equivalent features on the K.B. are just awful.)

So imagine my shock when i pushed the WPS button and connected it to my network (with NAS) only to find it doesn't support my 'test' HD video! :O
I thought surely it must be a "P.I.C.N.I.C." issue!?
Nope.. I'm sad to say it but despite having the features i upgraded for it does NOT support a myriad of commonly used video file types over Wi-Fi! :'(

To cut the long story short-
Even though i have to bring in a portable HD and physically attach it to the Sony in order to watch those certain file types (hardly worth complaining about but still annoying), i'm still using the Sony for the same reasons i upgraded to it in the first place;
the XrossMedia user interface* is smooth and easy to use, the remote is responsive well designed and the unobtrusive lighting at the front turns off when i turn it off. :D

IMO the Sony SMP-N100 is a far superior device.

*And the many streaming web content channels it provides were a nice surprise too! ;)

it won't recognise Live Movie Maker

I have one and am impressed with the quality of displaying HD videos.
I do have two problems though.
(1) I set it up on my wireless network, my main PC was a windows 7 when I originally set it up and I upgraded this to Windows 7 i5 with more hardware and RAM. The problem is I can't remove the old PC shadow address from showing when I access my new PC on Media player. It show I have two main PC's when I only have one.
How do I remove the old one? I shoouldn't have to reset and reload the network again.
(2) I recently went on holidays and made a video movie of that trip using Windows Live Movie Maker, The Media player won't recognise this extension for me to playe my home made movie on my network, why? it's part of Windows 7 Service Pack??? I can play it if I make a copy on disk and run it on my DVD player.

Seen it in real life... looks pretty good and interface is great !
Cons
cant play 7.1 sound and chanels to not have much variety
