  • Pros
When it works - its good
  • Cons
    Battery

My wife and I purchased a GO 1000 and a GO 1050 when we replaced our cars last year. In that time we have both returned our respective units for the 2nd time due to battery failure after 2-3months.

Not only do I have to sent them back, we have to wait over a month to get them back and there is no communication with TomTom about the status. If the next one fails, I'll be demanding a full refund. When it works - its not bad and as good as the Garmin I had before. I suspect its just been a bad battery run, but Tomtom are crap at customer service and communication.

  • Pros
    Build, quality,
  • Cons
    none

I had a Navman before and used it for 12 hours in a day. It was 6 months in repairs and 6 months used. A piece of s,,t that's all I can say aboiut Navman. Their "service" is ignorance, rudeness, and "go know at the other door" attitude.
I had my Tomtom GO 720 for 3 years now, my screen is starting to fade a bit, but appart from that EVERYTHING has been perfect.
As for Jim's stupid comment , please excuse him, he's an idiot. Not all of us have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to spend on mobile Live updates on our mobile bills, for some stupid useless info that won't help anyways. Adelaide is packed with road works at all times, so that function is useless.

  • Pros
    Navman my75T
  • Cons
    Navman software

Just purchased the 75T. Looked at the cd enclosed and found it only supports MS Windows NOT the iMac. Called their tech support... "Er no, we don't have any software for the iMac yet". Perhaps by year end 2011!!!!!!. Okay, so I installed their Windows software on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 (64bit) patched with service pack 1. All okay now? NO. the software says no device connected even though I have usb it direct to the laptop and NOT via a hub. Back to tech support again.."Er No our software doesn't yet support Windows 7 (64bit) only (32bit). I then tried the compatibility mode in Win 7 and try to fool the software in thinking it was an XP version of windows. Result, no that didn't work either. I'm gob smacked! what century is Navman designing in? Most if not all pc's being sold off the retail counters now are pre-installed with Windows 7 (64bit). Also, in view of tens of thousands people all over the world that are moving from the buggy "This progam is not responding" daily message one gets with this all time crap operating system now to a unix based Apple one, I find it incompressible that they have cut themselves off from this additional growing market.
So, buyer beware! unless you are running Windows 95 or there about's, forget connecting up to Navman software to perhaps update your maps, speed cameras and the sat navs firmware. In all other respects the MY75T looks to do what it says on the tin. In the meantime Words fail me.
