Yes you can record 4 channels at the same time. However, it would have to be let's say Channel 7 and Channel 7Two ( one tuner) plus Channel 9 and channel 9Gem ( 2nd tuner)

I REGRET BUYING THIS - NOT EASY TO USE AND VASTLY INFERIOR TO THE PREVIOUS TOPFIELD TWIN SD UNIT. ALWAYS DISPLAYS "NO SIGNAL" ON CH44 SYDNEY WHEN PICTURE IS GOOD. NOT FIT FOR MARKET - MORE DEVELOPMENT NEEDED.

I have managed to connect my Topfield 2460 as wireless and get internet access but cannot get a wired connection to work through my Thomsom tg782t modem.
Still have not explored all features yet

Yes I am in Australia but recording two "different" shows on two "different" channels at the same time, is still just two shows on two channels, not 4, isn't it? The way they advertise it is misleading, it basically reads that you can record 4 different shows at any given time, which is not the case.
You can only record two different shows on two different channels at the same time and watch a 3rd with true twin tuners.
For the average joe, they wouldn't understand this.

To the person '?' who said you can't record up to 4 shows at once, are you in Australia? Cos I am and I can record 2 shows from 2 channels. That is 4 shows.

Err why on earth are all these places advertising twin tuners and stating that you can record 4 shows simultaneously? That's BS you can't do that with twin tuners, you can't even do that with quad tuners. The best you can do is record two shows on different channels and a watch a third at any given time. RIDICULOUS!

My parents recently bough this PVR and its capabilities are awesome. It has an inbuilt web server and ftp host. uploading files from your computer is super-easy and fast (just make sure it's in the right format). All of the menus are really fast and snappy, indicating a powerful and efficient processor. haven't had it long enough to comment on the quad-recording capabilities ( we generally don't need to do that sort of thing) but the dual recording feature works nicely. The web interface provides amazing levels of control over the device, recordings and files and there are lots of multimedia capabilities that we will probably never even use. Only thing is that it doesn't show standard windows network file/disk shares. It only shows a Kodak share, must be some sort of multimedia requirement on the servers part.
Awesome box, and the icetv and universal remote work nicely and are great bonuses.
It seems to have great features in terms of being practically usable as a NAS. I really like it and the quality shows in its every aspect.

Hi All I am a seasoned topfield user with a 2400 and a 2460 in another room. It took a little to get used to it but it is a tryuly amazing and worthwhile system.Regular firmware automatic updates make this unit better and better. I couldnt imagine going to any other player. I have tried WD Live, Seagate Media Player and still nothing comes close to the 2400/60
It loves Divx format I have e-sata ext drives on both and has worked faultlessly for years (2400) My only point for improvement is 1. Increase the FTP file transfer speed to 100Mbit/s NOT 10Mbit/s 2 Record in MP-4 file format. 3. Increase the CODEC suite to play more types of Video although I am happy with AVI/Divx/MKV. I find the quality on my Full HD Plasma fantastic These two Topfields are not like past Topfields of dubious firmware quality. They really are awesome RELIABLE machines, My kids on Holidays love it !! For that I do to.
I have spent time getting to know these units, they sit on my network, and great too on USB/e-sata
All I can say is go get one....But only a 2400 or 2460
