Ive upgraded from a 2.5 year old HTC Desire which was a great phone which is still working. I decided to upgrade because the battery on the Desire had deteriorated to only a few hours of life between charges.
I decided on the HTC One after being very impressed with its looks, and when I had a play with it in store, it was quick, and the screen was large and super clear.
Ive owned this for over a week now, and Ive used all the features and I cant fault it. I never have high expectations with battery life as most people I know complain about short battery life, so I simply manage around it with owning multiple chargers for home and work and a car charger, so it doesnt really bother me.
GPS quality is important to me, and the HTC Ones GPS quality is perfect. I watch hours of Youtube on the phone now as the screen is large enough with fantastic quality picture.
I love Blink Feed too. I use Twitter and Facebook alot. And the Blink Feed puts all news/notifications from these 2 sites into 1 feed - including images. Love it..
The camera is great - a hge upgrade from the original HTC Desire I own.The camera is quick, and I like the Zoe effect. The video and still image quality is SUPER GOOD!!
Overall - it is EXCELLENT and so far FAULTLESS..

This is by far the best and most enjoyable smartphone I've ever owned. Here's all the smartphone's I've owned: G1, G2, HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy S3, Nexus 4. This is by far the best of all of them. The design of the phone itself is spectacular and does not feel cheap. I had lost some faith in HTC a few years back, but now my faith has been restored. This phone is absolutely brilliant.
