  • Pros
speedy performance, great on the new ice cream sandwich
  • Cons
    battery life

i have only owned this phone for around a week now, and already I'm enjoying it better then my old iPhone 4s, only thing i can fault is the battery life, but hey what you expecting from a phone that has a duel care processor and 1gb ram
one thing i like about it is the battery can be changed if you taking a long journey, unlike the iPhone which has a built in battery

  • Pros
replaces 90% need for home pc
  • Cons
not oled screen, higher SAR than some

Not understanding Paul's comments above slandering this phone (eg "quiet speaker" etc; his experience not likely everyone's)
I was a little worried by the higher possible SAR value as tested (worst case scenario) but the loudness of this phone has me holding it 15cm from my head.
I am guessing that the quality hardware aerial required for dual band and LTE is equating to the phenominal reception and excellent battery life in standby.
Telstra has rolled out ice cream sandwich for this device.
easy to use, fast and extremely capable.
reckon more power efficient OLED screen would have been better design decision, but this screen has better daylight viewability.
ultimate smartphone with excellent build quality.
HTC mods improve android, highly recommended!

  • Pros
    User friendly, design, speed.
  • Cons
    Battery life.

Got the Velocity by recommendation of Telstra Rep, not dissapointed. Great speeds, great screen for games, video, documents and pics. Youtube etc little if any lag. Stream radio with no trouble. I don't shill for HTC, telstra or competitors (above???) but this is a good handset and worth good thought.

  • Pros
    resolution
  • Cons
    interface

owned htc velocity for 1 day. battery dead after 10 hours of sitting in my pocket. It took 8 hours to charge from macbook. Buttons are extremely frustrating. unplugging headset cancels a phone call. audio is whisper quiet. interface is ridiculous. keyboard is all over the place. Super frustrating. I want to smash it already. you need to do a uni course to understand this phone. DO NOT buy it. The 4g factor is experimental right now. hardly available anywhere. im in 4g area now. still takes 10s processing time to search google for results. Absolute crap. must use 2 hands to use this device or you will accidentally be adjusting settings including the volume control which is on the wrond side (where your thumb is if you are right handed). Absolutely counter-intuitive. Technology has gone backwards with this piece of junk. With cover on it will definitely take everything out of your pocket and onto the floor. when charger is plugged in phone is impossible to hold. dont even think about using this phone unless the phone is unplugged. Waste of time.

Great Phone. fast, no lag whatsoever. I don't know why some people here are saying it lags tring to make phone calls?? To jamies, it's the first official 4G phone and you have to be on telstra to have 4G.
I love poeple who rate the phone without actually owning it! the only issue I have is the battery life.

  • Pros
    about 4 g
  • Cons
you can't call using the LTE network

I would wait until the other two LTE gets sold to the phone providers in Australia before i would get a LTE phone with 700 mhz 1.8 ghz and 2.6 ghz and then we will see some serious speeds and i have a telstra LTE modem and the speeds are unbelievable when i did a speed test and clocked 101 mbps one thing that LTE is good for is voip and i can see a lot that gets a LTE phone is running voip calls and you would have to get on engin or Skype for voip i don't know any other voip providers in australia.

Why?
HTC has better phones than this one created for Telstra.
Good luck for those who really need 4G.
The launching of this phone....what's wrong with you all guys? (First 4g in Australia.....), sorry but there are many users who already got 4G ready phones here in Australia long time ago.
