I like my Huwavi Ideos Very much

Got mine from Aldi (Australia) for AUD$59. Had read reviews the battery wasn't all that crash hot and at that price went for it any way BUT was I in for a surprise....
Now I know why they are trying to almost give them away. A total load of rubbish.
You have to not use it AND install an app called juiceDefender set to its max setting just to get it to last about 24 hours (even then there's little talk time available). juiceDefender sorta blocks / turns off apps using up power (I think it was written just for this phone).
Don't know how any one could ever produce a phone? with such an almost useless battery like this.
It has a camera. Hah. About all its worth is so others can see the lens on the back and think you're up with the "in" crowd. No quick access button and REALLY POOR image quality (never had one so bad) and no flash.
Very often the touch screen just ignores my repeated touch, press, or "whack", yet at other times it responds to hardly even touching it. On the train yesterday I re-called my bank 5 times just trying to transfer some $s across to my debit card.
If was quite a bit heavier I could use it as a door stop; but alas...

hey albert i havnt read the whole review but i say DO NOT BUY IT. why because i have one and all its done is given me missory iv had it about 8 months and so far the motherboard in it has died twice and the battery survives about 2 hours if u use it non stop. so in my opinion dont by it.

OK, has this phone for just over a year and was getting on fine with it until the last month or so. Now it will randomly dial numbers without my asking it to do anything, does not ring sometimes, drops calls and is basically a piece of junk. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!
7
If you want a phone that constantly locks up, buy this phone. If you seek to be constantly frustrated by an interface that does nothing when you touch the screen, buy this phone. If you like to be annoyed when trying to turn on your phone only to find a blank screen staring at you, then I suggest you buy this phone. I have owned this phone for less than 6 weeks and I realise that I have wasted my money. I have had my Nokia for 3 years and it still works perfectly. The 2 mp camera on my Nokia makes a mockery of the 3 mp on the Ideos. I think I will go back to it and save for a better phone and use this one for a paperweight.
8
this phone is available at aldi for 60$. do you reckon it is worth 60$?
9
Gone back 5 years using this.
10
the ideos android goes for 75$ in Kenya today one of the cheapest android os phones so far.
11
the battery! i have to charge twice daily, in order to enjoy my ideos
12
This is a piece of crap. Battery runs out in less than 12 hours, even with replacement. Technical support nonexistent and replacement impossible.
13
hello guys, i just picked mine with 2gig sd card, but only one cover, and wow its great app for beginners and for its price, 3G and wi-fi support earns it marks, plug ins allows audio and video streaming,i recently watched a streaming DSTV channels and gaze what i wasnt disappointed, but ohh i forgot my charger while tavelling to SOUTHERN SUDAN for a day.then i realised that this thing doesnt poses a battery, no camera flash and low camera resulution not good enough to take pictures or videos but to me it awesome .

Phone performed the necessary functions for a light user of mobile phones. However, phone failed after three months of light use and subsequent customer support to have problem diagnosed and rectified has, at this stage, taken more than a month and no advice on repair or replacement for phone has been forthcoming.

It's a brilliant phone considering how much I paid for it ($99), the only things I can fault it for are the camera (apparently 3 megapixels by barely produces a good 1megapixel photo) and the screen (doesn't produce enough colors so you see dithering everywhere when watching videos or photos) other than that though, I've done multitasking on the thing and it handled it ok (hotspot + connectbot + browser + music) but murdered the battery abit. Overall I'm happy with the thing, it provides excellent value in a small package.
16
I picked up one of these for $50 in a runout sale as a second phone. Wasn't expecting much, seems reasonably responsive for the basic included functionality I thought. Due to the lowish specs, it would be rather pointless with a higher res screen anyhow. Touch screen works ok for the price, functionality is better than any old nokia. Forget using the including camera.
Seeing as I most frequently use my phone as a mp3 player, the music quality through the same headphones seems similar to my iPhone 4, quick to respond, etc so happy there.
If you're after a very cheap phone, and can find one can't really go wrong with this.

i have a problem with this phone,i can unlock the screen but after that it will lock only black screen will appear.i took it to the mobile repair shop and they didn't able to solve the problem.i want some help to solve this problem please

I bought earlier this year - my first touchphone / smartphone. I've been very happy. I use the internet a little, mostly though wifi. I make calls, send texts and use the emails ( agood prgoram called K-9). The screen could be better, the battery life longer and the internet acess faster but that's okay; I knew it was cheaper than everything else and expected compromises. I don't like the fact that I must keep the phone on to get the alarms to work. That is a pain. Overall, a pretty good phone at a great price. I'd be happy to buy another Huawei if I need to upgrade to something bigger.

Where can i get this phone less than 150 aussie dollar. Can u get different coloured backs
20
If I knew it didn't support adobe flash I wouldn't have bought it..other than that I think it's a good phone
21
thing is that android deals don't get better than this. looking foreward to the next version.
22
I bought this phone because it had an FM Radio and 3.5mm jack for a head set but guess what the icon for the FM Radio is no where to be found. Figures.. Will give 4 stars if I get a radio other wise just one. Not because it's a bad phone because it's not, only because I didn't get what I paid for and I wanted an FM Radio on my phone.

Even though these are cheap phones, the faults with them make them almost useless.
I've had mine for 6 months. In the first month one of the earpieces of the stereo headset stopped working. I've tried to find a replacement you can't get one. None of the generic ones you buy work either.
I don't use my phone that much and the battery life is just a joke. I use the alarm on the phone, and if I 'snooze' for 30 minutes a quarter of the battery life is used.
I also have a second very basic Samsung phone that cost $20. It took a week for the battery to move to 3 quarters.
Like PC's, the phone also randomly freezes. Can't wait for the iPhone 5 later this year. They're worth the money, and I'd recommend spending more and getting quality.

I've had my Ideos U8150 for about 3 months now and absolutely love it. So the resolution isn't great and the battery life sucks but for the price, the phone is great - specially if you want an intro to Android before splashing out the big bucks. Heaps of apps on the Android market that will help you extend the battery life. Pretty good basic Android phone and having seen how the U8150 performs, I am now looking forward to the arrival of the X6!
25
I WANT IT :)
26
So far this is a fantastic bargain at $149 purchase price. I can only find fault with the battery, all else is great!
27
In Kenya we're getting ideos without the extra covers (corruption? )
28
William, link me up with a good shop in Kenya where i can get one at 6o Euros, in Ug its costs 101 Euros and locked.

As a basic phone, it is excellent. I like the ease with which it fits into shirt pockets and its light weight. The speakers are really impressive for the phone's small size and really belt out the sound.
However, since getting my IDEOS U8150 at Christmas I have spend countless hours working out how to use the phone. The "manual" is an A4 sized piece of toilet paper that is virtually unreadable and does little aid use of the phone. Only by going to an Android user web site a few minutes ago did I finally learn how to turn of the music player!!! Android is the hidden strength of the phone for on-line support is excellent; perhaps too good because finding the right advice means getting your search phrase spot on.
My Crazy Johns phone also came with both 1 GB and a 4GB Micro SD cards also which adds value to the phone's utility as a data transport medium.

Need more improvement for basic requirements like flash, screen size, camera. otherwise it is a phone with good Operating Software.

The Ideos U8150 is for sale in Kenya for ~ 60 euros, including 1GB microsd card. The phone is not locked.

Im really enjoying this phone...it's my first touch screen so I dont care about the stuff that others seem to take for granted. My only gripe is that I cant seem to play any Windows Media Player files on it! I put the mini SD from my old phone in and it will play the mp3 format but not the wnidows format....any ideas to rectify this?
