The Sena Wallet Skin iPhone case is a stylish, luxury cover that can also handle light wallet duties and so could free you from pocket clutter. Even as a secondary wallet it's good-looking enough for people to love its looks as much as those of the Apple iPhone inside.

I've never been one for the gripping silicon iPhone sleeves. I want my iPhone case to have the look of a luxury wallet rather than of a Marigold washing up glove.

I did try the Apple Italian Leather cases, but it wasn't much more than an expensive iPod Sock.

The Sena Wallet Skin doesn't just look like an expensive wallet - it is one!

This calfskin Napa leather iPhone 3GS case has four pockets for credit or business cards, including one with a window for ID. This iPhone case therefore holds out the possibility of replacing my wallet altogether.

Currently my wallet holds four bank cards, an Oyster London travel pass, my office entrance swipe and a few business cards. Could all these fit in the Sena Wallet Skin?

My first challenge to the case was will it work with the Oyster card, and it easily passed both bus and tube swipes.

I was less lucky with the office swipe, as it's larger than a credit card and so stuck out ruining the look of the wallet case.

The four bank cards was also a little too much for the Wallet Skin. It could handle three cards, but the third would cover up the case's camera hole, which would mean removing a card when you wanted to use the iPhone's camera.

So unless I carry just a couple of bank cards around this isn't going to let me leave my old wallet at home.

However if you're a two card-carrying person or one bank card, one travel pass and a few business cards, the Sena Wallet Skin is going to leave one of your pockets free of a second wallet.

A colleague who also tried out the Sena Wallet Skin found it too bulky, but he's a silicon-glove type of iPhone user. He did admire the fine leather styling, though, and thought it would make an excellent iPhone case for a stylish woman's handbag.

My previous iPhone cases have included a protective flap to cover the screen. The Wallet Skin doesn't have a flap, but I soon appreciated the instant access the case offers the touchscreen phone user.

The case does have a rigid protective layer to reinforce backbone support.

The Sena Wallet Skin is available in nine plain case colours: Black (pictured), Tan, Red, Baby Blue, Green, Orange, Brown, White, and Pink; plus four colours in a lovely crocodile-leather style - Black (pictured), Red (pictured), Burgundy and Tan.

It comes with a removable ratcheting metal belt-clip, but thankfully this doesn't ruin the look when not in place. Does anyone still wear their phone on their belt?
