20 feet from the router, 50% signal (fair). 40 feet away, cannot connect. This modem/router is a poor excuse for a networking product. My DLINK is WAY WAY better. I bought this just to have a modem router rather than have two devices. It sucks.

Own a medium sized house, 4 out of 5 bars on the pc furthest away from the router. Speed and stability are excellent. Setup was a breeze, took like 5-10 mins.

Thought I was getting a good deal was fast. But it will not hold a connection for long. Useless on Telstra Bigpond continually drops the DSL. Had to revert to the old Siemens 4200 and D-Link router Very slow now 6.4355 mbps. Its not on Telstra's approved list either

- Conswireless strength is rubbish
Can only echo others comments re the very poor reach of the wireless signal. I'll have to ask the neighbourhood what they are using as we can always see their signals but rarely ours.

As Amber says - It will not find DNS or IP address. I've tried manually setting the IP address as mine is Static but it still won't connect to the internet. Even as a wired router my main computer sees my laptop and NAS but if I try to log in to them they just disappear from the list. Reconnected my Netgear 834 and everything is fine again.

87% signal @ 0.5m, 54% signal @ 4m, from one room to another through open doors.37% signal @ 8m, around two corners, upstairs through open doors, not a big house. The previous unit we got from Orange, could get a useable signal in the car out front, or half way up the back garden, certainly at least 60% anywhere in the house, avg. 74% .
Now I'm lucky to get more than 1 bar on any device not in the same room as the router. Absolutely dreadful, shockingly bad. Tried different positions and channels, no improvement.
I'm going to have to go with the old unit, slower connection speed, but I can't use the extra speed from the new unit because of the ridiculously unusable short range. It would be better marketed as a non-wireless router that is so powerful, if you get your device close enough (i.e. within a metre) it acts like its wireless.
N150 shouldn't be running slower than a 3 year old ADSL 1, both being freebie/base units.
Never mind the fact that there is no option in the routers settings to actually activate the n signal, just the other types.....
Simply unacceptable.

- ProsHey it works.
- ConsNot as powerful as the one it was replacing
Just got this. I am no good with set up so I had the guys at my ISP help me over the phone. No dramas but I was very disappointed because my old iConnect 625W (bought Jan 2008) had 4 out of 5 bars (VERY GOOD)of signal strength approx 10 mtrs away whereas this new one (March 2011) has only 2 bars out of 5 (FAIR) in the same conditions. My house is only small so maybe that won't matter but I would have thought a new router with new technology would be at least as good as the last one in signal strength.
