I bought this laptop for $999 from Bing Lee. Overall I'm quite happy with it. It gets a decent score in Windows experience index and feels snappy for most desktop/productivity app tasks. It also works smoothly with a high FPS in TF2, Portal 2 and Borderlands, at native resolution and full detail options selected. It has a 4GB + 2GB RAM configuration - it's kind of annoying, I don't know why they don't just put the maximum of 8GB in and add a little bit to the price. I guess I'll do that upgrade at some point. The HDD seems pretty snappy for a 5400RPM but I will probably swap it out for a 256GB SSD when those prices some down a little. The screen is very clear and bright (I preferred it to the HP and ASUS equivalents in particular) but is glossy which can be annoying when you have a light source behind you. The main problem with the build quality is the slight creakiness of the case when you lean your palms on it, and the plasticky thud when you close the lid (the little rubber stoppers aren't really big or soft enough.) Overall though, it seemed the best bang for buck in October 2011 for a $999 laptop and I don't regret the purchase.
PS - Don't install Zone Alarm, it causes constant BSODs! I don't know if this is a 64-bit windows problem, some conflict with network adapter drivers on this laptop or something else but I haven't been able to get it working.
