- ConsBattery, HDD, Thumb Pad
Bought this laptop due to Toshiba's reputation in the market.
The battery life is not even worth talking about; two hours max going carefully. My old HP DV5 lasted more than double the time (when it wasn't overheating).
The HDD is very slow for some reason. By slow I mean it is no better than my old Seagate Barracudas from 2005 era.
The thumb pad likes doing it's own thing as I have found with my smaller Satellite laptop as well. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all, other times it keeps returning to the top of the page. I am wondering if it is a Toshiba thing.
It is definitely not the laptop it should be considering the price tag and the CPU it is using.
This was bought for my son studying engineering at Uni. It was proving not to be up to the requirements, especially on battery life so I have replaced it with an Asus N53 which way out performs in every way. Even the six cell battery in it lasts between 4 and 10 hours depending on usage.
For the money I would recommend you look elsewhere.

Love the job it does. I play a few online games like Perfect World, Eve, and StarCraft II. Does very well even playing more than one client. Battery only lasts 1/2 a movie. So I just carry two lol.

- ProsGood look, good feel, good features.
- ConsSame here, hard drive doesn't cut the cheddar.
Bought mine only recently due to 40% price reduction. Plays LOTRO (standard download) with high graphics setting very soothly. However have to keep anti-aliasing set at x2 and screen res at standard.

- ProsVery strong performance
- ConsSlow harddrive
I find the f60 is a very good performer. I play many demanding online mmorpg's. It has kept up with all of them...Eve, Perfectworld, world of warcraft. It is also very handy with movies and tv.

Purchasing the Toshiba Qosmio F60 has been the single worst technology purchase decision of my life. I have wasted hours of precious business time and missed business opportnities as a result of this bad decision.
I've had to completely re-install the operating system three times and am about to have to do it again.
I suspect that my HDD or motherboard are about to die.
Look for another laptop... any other laptop and you will be better off.
