I have owned my mini wifi modem since March and at first it was going really well. In the last two months I have experienced constant disconnections on a full signal of reception.

I take my modem to my partner's house and the connection is very erractic and unpredictable even though I was told I would be fully covered by Optus's 3G network.

If I am not getting constantly disconnected the speed is incredibly slow sometimes taking three minutes to load a page. I brought this to the attention of Optus and they offered me no solutions.

I am very disappointed in this product and in Optus as well. I feel ripped off, Optus are thieves and do not live up to their end of the deals they make. I would not recommend this product to anyone and will be cancelling my existing contract with Optus to go to Telstra'a 4G network.

I have had this Optus device pre-paid, for 24 hrs. I paid $99 for 6 months prepaid for 8G. I love the convenience of being able to buy extra data without loss of speed. This is a great alternative and support to my 24 month Telstra 12G with Elite modem.

My Telstra contract does not allow me to buy extra data, and the speed is choked if I exceed my limit.

The Telstra packaged prepaid devices outside of my contract do not offer the same amount of data, price or convenience as this Optus package and modem.

The Optus setup guide was a bit vague. It could have come with more thorough instructions, but with a little persistence, I got there.

I love this modem, its a good solid size and can be moved around my house conveniently and easily to suitable 3g zones. I have tried it wirelessly and directly connected to my pc, and its a solid performer.

I did not find the relectivity of the screen a problem during setup or since, and once that was finalised, I managed the modem via the pc program. Yes the 10M download packets are annoying, but not enough to choose this over other less usable devices.

I just recently disconnected from Vodafone month-to-month plan because it was giving me headaches and so i found this on a 12 month plan (free on 39.95 month plan). I was so surprised about the speed for the size.

I am living in central Queensland and still seem to get pretty good speeds (especially in relation th Vodafone) which is what i wanted. Ive got my mobile and laptop computer and there is not much struggle to run both. However you can connect straight to a computer if you wanted to download faster.

Ive only had this for a day and cant really fault it. I cant seem to find out how to change the password from the manufacturers but this is just a personal issue (as i havent really used all resources to fix this problem)

Ive heard this has crappy battery life but ive got it connected via AC plug next to a window so i dont need to run it off the battery. Also it recharges itself when its plugged into a computer, so your only problem is if your out and want to use it... but why be antisocial and go on your wifi while your in public??

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
