Pros
Print Quality, Very Reliable
Cons
Little slow but it is a inkjet
• • •

What can I say a very reliable all in one printer. just about every printer I have came across has at least one problem. The only problem I could find with this printer is it's a little bit of a slow printing & scanning process but apart from that very reliable and I am sticking with it.

Toner Usage

We have had a massive problem with going through heaps of toners with this printer, in comparison to the previous Canon all in one machines. It seems as quickly as we replace it, it is empty again. Even with having the print setting preference on fast and black/white only??

Pros
Shiny black casing
Cons
most of it

It's slow, double-siding is painful, the colours are slow to dry so it feeds 2 or 3 docs through at a time or it slides and prints half the page. The colour casettes use up very quickly. The 4x4 controls are not user friendly. I'm sorry I bought this machine.

Limited paper capacity

The ink cartridges are rather small in capacity print quality and speed are good.

It seems a little bulky. I would like to see a smaller footprint.

This is a very good printer and is perfect for small home office and family use. The double sided scanning, printing and copying works well (printing and copying double sided is a little slow to allow ink to dry before paper is fed back in). Printing single sided documents is very fast and so far the printer doesn’t seem to be using too much ink. The printer looks good, is not too bulky and Photo print quality is good.
The bad points about this printer are: 1) when scanning the file size is limited so you can’t scan a large picture at full resolution (most other all in ones have the same limitation). 2)to change from single sided to double sided you have to scroll through menus which can be a bit annoying. 3) In general buttons and menu navigation could be better. 4) Standard paper tray is a bit flimsy and capacity us a little small. 5) When copying photos direct from the flat bed scanner (not using a computer) you have to go though the copy menu and select high quality. Otherwise there will be lines through the copy.
I originally bought a HP c410a which I returned as it didn’t do double sided scanning, had poor quality photo printing, and displayed low ink warnings after 2 days (although I was printing A4 pictures trying to get the colours to match). I am very glad I returned the HP and got the Cannon.
The cannon MX885 is not perfect however is the best small office all in one printer that I found after 2 weeks of look and trying out printers. It is cheaper, smaller, and better than the HP c410a.
