Cons

Almost never found a video signal - tried two different computers (Windows 7 and XP SP3). The software often locked up while the hardware was connected. Managed to convert 0 videos (this was for work). I've used the Kaiser bas product at home without problems. The Roxio product simply sucked.

We have spent hours trying it on two pcs one with XP and the other with Windows 7. Both same result no video signal or sound several days later no support from Roxio after two requests only referred back to their User Discussion Groups. Bad move by company as it only illustrates how many requests for support unanswered or no help.

This software did exactly what it said it would do - copy VHS tape to DVD. I read some negative reviews AFTER I bought the product and got a little worried, but it worked perfectly for me. (And I'm no techno-geek. I'm a little old lady.) The quality was good, the instructions were clear, the sound came through, the menu was really cool. My ONLY disappointment was that it records to the DVD in VOB (Video Object) format and I'm given no other options. I'm unable to download that type of format into my movie editing programs (Adobe or Movie Maker) for further editing, so I would have preferred AVI. Rats. Nevertheless, for preserving old VHS tapes this is a great program and very easy to install and use - just follow the instructions. If you use the Edit tab (as described in their guide) you can pick and choose what parts of the VHS tape you want to include on your DVD and/or combine parts of different tapes onto the same DVD. Each time you name your "video" and that title becomes part o the menu selection. Or you can save your video to your hard drive. Really - for the price - it's an excellent product.

STYLISTIC Q702

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
