Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Android tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 offers little to get excited about and provides no compelling reason to choose it over alternatives.

When in apps like facebook or on news pages scrolling is difficult. If you try to scroll on a picture, it will open it up, not a smooth operation at all. Flicking from page to page in the home screen can take up to 3 seconds before it works out 'oh, you want me to change the page?'
absolute waste of money.
just dont bother with this one.

Pros
microSD card slot with well thought out encryption options!!!! Fantastic bundle of the Kingsoft Office Suite.
Cons
Kies software is buggy at best and needs a LOT of work. The system defaults are actually set back up app data AND WIRELESS PASSWORDS to Google.... yeah, the same company that is indexing and probing all available networks while they're doing the Streetview groundwork.

The reviewer completely misses a major point:

"Bottom Line

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 appears to be a needless upgrade. It has the same sized screen with the same resolution as its predecessor and adds no significant new features aside from a microSD card slot and updated Android software. "

The microSD card slot is HUGE. I've had an iPhone for a few years, mostly to see if I could get it to do everything that I want before getting an iPad. What I learned is that iOS is a lot of fun but virtually impossible to get serious productivity tools on it and to manage your data outside of the limitations of iTunes and the Apple ecosystem. The more you know about distributed systems and the Google founders' views on privacy and your data the more you should understand the importance of managing your data. This is a great device.

Unable to use flash...would a customer focused company blame Adobe or find a solution for the customer? Sadly, I didn't find the latter.

I owned an Asus tab before this tab 2. I find this machine nice to use compared to it but it is definitely slower but not annoying so.

The fact that Google is in with the Android group with its own "play store" you get more games, more apps and less like it or leave it control that is Apple. World sales for Samsung and Android is tops over Apple. F is wrong on that post, you can add to the factory minimum 16 gb and add 32GB with a Micro SD card and do transfers and storage. Just because you don't know how to use something you should not tell the world about it. This is a very good tablet, Asus has one a bit better than this. I love the tunein radio app but if you could add a am/fm/xm/tv tuner it would replace my car stereo head unit via Bluetooth at a fraction of the cost. I think the future is now and will be Droid.

I was expecting a shot over Apple's bow, this is more like "Now that we found you... here's our cargo, have a nice day!". It certainly isn't worthy of the 2 moniker. This is simply an insult to the company's reputation, even the dockable keyboard is a poor design, more after thought than thought through. From a company that can come up with the Galaxy Note and SIII this is saying... "Yes, we're selling tablets but they're not important enough for us to spend any design dollars on them."

I wonder if it is any better than the 7.7 l just bought for which l bought a 16gb extention card to which lt is not allowing me to transfere a thing. In other words l am stuck with this 16gb device that is just not enough storage space!!!
Very disapointed! !!

STYLISTIC Q702

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

Simon Harriott

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
