Pros
plays dvd files ok
Cons
doesn't play bluray iso or mkv
• • •

This player is junk if you want to play 1080p BD iso or BD mkv. Don't waste your time. It will play these bluray files for 20m then freeze (gives an error with iso and wants you to connect to theatre+) and it will actually corrupt your files, run a chkdsk & you lose the file, it's just the shell at 0 bytes. (Created these files with anydvd) I lost many movies until I figured out what was going on. I'm looking at the popcorn hour c-300 for true BD iso support.

Pros
cheap, plays rmvb files
Cons
no file transfer,slow interface couldn,t play mp4
• • •

I bought this unit because I have a few rmvb files and I didn't want to have to convert them and it does play rmvb files. But, I've had a lot of trouble playing mp4 movies that play OK in media player classic. I know there are lots of variations within mp4 but the goflex doesn't give any help on what the problem is, just a circle with a cross. I thought it might be h.264 that it doesn't handle but I haven,t been able to find an mp4 format it likes and in the end I converted my mp4's to .avi format, which defeats the point of buying this buying unit to avoid converting movie files.
It,s also supposed to work with any external USB hard drive, but I couldn't get it to recognize my maxtor one touch until I reformatted it to FAT32.
Finally it is not possible to transfer files from a network PC to a hard drive connected to the goflex TV over the network. You have to physically disconnect the drive, connect it to the PC, transfer the files and reconnect it to the goflex.
I'm seriously thinking of tossing this and trying the Kaiser Baas wireless media player

Pros
Small, plays all files
Cons
slow interface

The interface is very slow on this unit. It's like the remote control doesnt work sometimes and you have to re-press the button, and then it takes a couple of seconds for thr menu to work. Apart from that i like it.

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
