In a somewhat hetrogeneous "PC" setup here, I needed a solution for "disaster recovery" even if it was an older hard drive failing. Having worked as a sys admin in a large company and knowing many of the pros and cons, I had a pretty good idea of what to look for. Background sync as a continuous backup is a very good idea. Set and forget for the instant backup gives instant piece of mind - well almost - the recovery process would confirm that. The down side to this is the Instant Backup only sets the date as the plan. Upgrading to the Backup Premium is almost a must. A few other small bugs in the overall setup are not show stoppers. The obvious choice is to buy the Premium but the cost is not obvious. To update the versions of Premium the package did want to reinstall and like has already been said a constant self marketing from the company is distracting. The restore process defaults are not clear, "Where's My Files???" - Just select the "Show deleted Files" in the restore panel. I would have prefered an Image Backup plan instead of selecting file types but I realize that if I toast one of these machines it would be best to buy a new one and retrieve the assets from the backup. Finally, make sure all the clients have the same setup, Identify each machine differently, expect and initial startup time for the computers to get backed up and relax with some piece of mind. The non-recurring cost of the drive and the software is much cheaper than lost memories, documents, music or time to get it all back. I'm not looking forward to really testing the recovery process but I have much more confidence now.
