Hi Ross,

The screen on the AT100 actually is great you know. It may not be as bright, or colourful, or have as good a view angle as other screens on other tablets out there, but seeing as I am not sitting here with multiple tablets side by side comparing them, it doesn't really matter.

In isolation, in actual long term use, it is great.

A Falcon is a great car, but then so is an M3. Not everything is an M3, but that doesn't mean they're not great. This applies to everything in life...

Oh, I'm just going to give my initial impression as an "Awesome!", to give a little balance to your initial impression as "Terrible!", as, your disliking of the screen aside, I'm sure it's not a terrible product. ;-)

Hi Chappy.

Thanks for your comments.

Apologies for the error in the product name: it was a typo and has been fixed. In my opinion is still remains a terrible name, regardless. It should have been called the Thrive like it is in the US.

The AT100 screen is not great, even if the yellow tinting has been fixed. I believe US reports on the screen are different, so it may not be the exact same panel on the Australian model.

As for the rating, we do not rate the product until we have physically reviewed it. The What's Hot and What's Not on previews is just based on our initial impressions upon the product announcement.

Thanks.

    Article errors

First, it's called the AT1S0, not AT1SO.

Second, the yellow tinting on the AT100 was due to incorrect display settings in Honeycomb 3.0, and was fixed with the 3.1 update. So, hopefully it's the same quality screen, 'cos the screen on the AT100 is great.

Third, having mandatory what's hot, what's not, and rate the product is rather silly, as all I've got to go on is your article, and rating things off specs alone is not a wise move...

Finally, here's hoping the price drops a little, given you can already buy the AT100 around the traps for $399.
