Cons
Graphics, battery

The graphics are pretty bad for a going computer and you will have to play most of the games on low settings and the battery doesn't last much at all. Excluding those problems the overall PC is really good for watching movies, TV shows, etc. Working (with Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and playing some games that do not demand good graphics.

At the end it did serve me really well and I had a good time with it.

Battery and HHD failing

despite all the problems I do love this laptop, 685GB hard drive, it has a separate numpad and large screen to watch movies, and good loud speakers.

but since I first purchased it 2 years ago the battery only ever lasted 1 hour, now my battery is really failing and wont stay on for more than 20 minutes without being plugged in, and to add to the problem the socket where my charger plus into the laptop is lose and slips out a lot.

My hard drive has been failing for over 1 year now, struggles to start up for about two weeks once every few months. but I've kept everything backed up and haven't lost anything yet.

Laptop also gets very hot with a loud fan (you can hear it in recordings and skype calls, and the microphone on the computer is on the opposite side from the fan.)

Have had this now for over 15 months, love it beyond belief. Has never let me down, have no issues with hardware or software, from spreadsheets to movies, I think it is brilliant. Fast and reliable, and appart from that looks good.

Purchasing the Toshiba Qosmio F60 has been the single worst technology purchase decision of my life. I have wasted hours of precious business time and missed business opportnities as a result of this bad decision.
I've had to completely re-install the operating system three times and am about to have to do it again.
I suspect that my HDD or motherboard are about to die.
Look for another laptop... any other laptop and you will be better off.

Bought this laptop due to Toshiba's reputation in the market.

The battery life is not even worth talking about; two hours max going carefully. My old HP DV5 lasted more than double the time (when it wasn't overheating).

The HDD is very slow for some reason. By slow I mean it is no better than my old Seagate Barracudas from 2005 era.

The thumb pad likes doing it's own thing as I have found with my smaller Satellite laptop as well. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all, other times it keeps returning to the top of the page. I am wondering if it is a Toshiba thing.

It is definitely not the laptop it should be considering the price tag and the CPU it is using.

This was bought for my son studying engineering at Uni. It was proving not to be up to the requirements, especially on battery life so I have replaced it with an Asus N53 which way out performs in every way. Even the six cell battery in it lasts between 4 and 10 hours depending on usage.

For the money I would recommend you look elsewhere.

Love the job it does. I play a few online games like Perfect World, Eve, and StarCraft II. Does very well even playing more than one client. Battery only lasts 1/2 a movie. So I just carry two lol.

Bought mine only recently due to 40% price reduction. Plays LOTRO (standard download) with high graphics setting very soothly. However have to keep anti-aliasing set at x2 and screen res at standard.

I find the f60 is a very good performer. I play many demanding online mmorpg's. It has kept up with all of them...Eve, Perfectworld, world of warcraft. It is also very handy with movies and tv.

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.

For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
