I was so excited to get this tv. I was taken in by all the hype of these new samsung series smart tv's. From the word go this thing was a lemon. The wrong stand was in the box, that took a day to get the right one by taking it from another new one out of the box and the retailers warehouse and then when I did get it going it had a horrible picture quality on its factory settings. It was a cow to calibrate to get it watchable and then I could never get the picture right. I spend hours... used calibration settings from every mother and his dog I could find on the net and then mucked about myself and it never looked great. It was so disappointing. Then as I was just starting to make some sense of the picture settings it developed a thin black line right across the screen when I turned it on one morning. Seems (after a simple google of 'thin black line on samsung plasma') that this is an on going and standard drama with samsung tv's. Hence, the store had no problem with replacing it with another TV, but, as there where no more Samsung PS59D6900's to be found for 6 weeks, they let me choice an exchange new one of my choice. Ended up with a Panasonic 58 inch VT20.. Older model yes, does none of the smart things the samsung did (which I could not get to work anyway) BUT the picture quality leaves the Samsung for dead. As I say, maybe the samsung I got was a lemon from the start but the Panasonic it streets ahead in the picture quality. Tis a pity, as the Samsung looked great as a piece of furniture, and this has also put me off samsung products. Once Bitten...
