Holiday gift guide: Top 5 HD pocket camcorders of 2010
- — 14 December, 2010 10:44
Pocket camcorders are small, flash-memory based cameras designed for casual users and video bloggers. They are around the size of a digital compact camera and are very easy to shoot with (simply point and press record). This makes them a good choice for families, as everyone - including young children - will be able to have a turn. They are also more affordable than traditional camcorders, with some models costing under $200.
All of the pocket camcorders featured on this list record video in high-definition and come from respected brands such as Sony, Panasonic and Cisco. To read our full, in-depth review, click on the photo of each camcorder.

The Sony HDR-TG5 is a minor evolution of the TG1 that adds some useful features but addresses none of its predecessor’s faults. Nevertheless, if you can get used to the unconventional shape it won’t disappoint.
