Best upcoming smartphones in 2011

Half of 2011 may have already passed us by, but despite a wealth of new smartphones already hitting the shelves, there is no signs of the mobile world slowing down. Plenty more smartphones are set to launch later this year, most of them including dual-core processors and large, high-resolution screens. Some, like the Samsung Galaxy Note offer something new, while others like HTC's Sensation XE and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray are a refresh or refinement of current models. Perhaps the most anticipated is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone to run the 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" version of Google's mobile operating system. Motorola has also brought back the iconic RAZR and this time it's thinner than ever.

Do not rely on Motorola for Android updates, look at all the older Motorola Android phones (dext & backflip still on 1.5 Android with no updates). We in Australia seem to get all the unwanted in the USA old Motorola phones.

The Samsung Galaxy s2 is the phone to get right now.
Tests have shown it easily beats HTC Pyramid even though they are very similar in specs on paper.
Looks like we'll be waiting a long time still for a high-spec phone for phys-qwerty lovers.

It doesn't matter which one to buy. It will be outdated very quickly.
I agree that HTC is no good. I have an HTC HD2. it supports HTC Sense of course. But the HTC Sense Website does NOT support it ??
Most of the GPS car navigation do not support HTC HD2 either.
If Motorola gets rid of their Blurr software.. It would be the best phone on the market.

Look, I've had the IPhone 3, 4 and I've recently spent the day with the IPhone 4S after using the Samsung Galaxy S2 for the last month. The Samsung Galaxy S2 absolutely makes it look silly from software down to hardware. The screen is amazing and it seems damn near limitless with applications.

I wouldnt agree. I have the galaxy s2 and iphone 4s at home and the ihpone's screen quality is far superior. The galaxy gives off an un-natural blue glow. The interface, apps and usability is also far superior on iphone.
