If you've got a shiny new TV and a Blu-ray player, but want to play back music or photo or video files from your desktop PC or notebook, a media player is the way to go. You can load up these devices with media files and easily access them, or you can connect them to your home network and stream video easily. We've put together a list of what we think are the best media players in Australia.

The Apple TV is competitively priced and boasts an excellent interface, so if you want an easy to use, basic solution to rent movies you'll appreciate its simplicity. Unfortunately, the lack of content – particularly the fact that Australian users can't rent TV shows or access a service like Netflix – limits this device from appealing to a wider audience at this time.

You missed the best of all. The Patriot Box Office.
Around $100 and way better than any of these.

Media Players, Shmedia Players, Nothings better than a Jailbroken ATV2 with Firecore. I am so confused though. a Jailbroken device should not be the best media player out there. I have brought loads of different ones because I am convinced there must be better but I just cannot find one.
I will keep looking but the Dvico TViX M-6600N is pretty ho hum.
