Are you in the market for a new tablet that's not an iPad? It may seem like Apple's the only player in this space but that's certainly not true.

Although most other tablets aren't as popular as the iPad, there are plenty of valid alternatives. Whether it's Google's excellent Nexus 7 for a compact alternative, or the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity for a notebook style experience, here are the best tablets on the market without an Apple logo.

ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T

Despite some software stability issues that need to be ironed out, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 is a competitively priced Android tablet that offers plenty of bang for your buck. The keyboard dock is a genuinely impressive add-on and makes the Transformer Pad stand out amongst bland competition.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
