If you're looking to add a few PCs to the office or looking for something reasonably priced to do your work from home, but don't need anything flashy, the ThinkCentre will run your everyday programs without any problems. Compact enough to keep on your desk but out of the way, this low cost system is a sturdy business solution.

The Lenovo A55 offers businesses a whole package solution suited to the office environment. The capacity for RAM upgrades and the available expansion slots give the system a degree of future proofing, but the limited size of the case suggests Lenovo intend this system to be replaced, rather than dramatically upgraded, when it eventually becomes obsolete.

The Lenovo ThinkCentre M55 9BM is a compact and quiet business PC that keeps maintenance simple and makes upgrades easy. Its design and functions are well-suited to an office environment and we think it's a good choice for any business searching for a uniformed PC roll-out.

Although the ThinkCentre A55 system didn't perform quite as well as the Core 2 Duo M55, it remains reasonably priced and is well suited for business environments.

The Veriton is neither a top-end performer, or at all sluggish, but for its tiny frame it performs fairly well. If compact, quiet and cool are criteria for your next business PC then it's a worthy choice.

In many respects the Vostro, though aimed at small businesses, is just another PC. However the layout, safety features and included maintenance tools and services make this a promising choice for businesses searching for a no-fuss solution.

The NEC Powermate C9500-2401 is small and suitable for users who want a decent PC with plenty of storage. However, its RAID 0 array isn't entirely appropriate for office use; we'd prefer it if NEC would halve the capacity and offer a mirrored array for security. It also lack a few useful features, such as a FireWire port and a media card reader, and the price doesn't include a monitor. These omissions, and the RAID 0 array, are the reason for our low rating.

Not contented to be just another typical business PC the Lenovo ThinkCentre A61e is an environmentally friendly, compact business PC solution with a lot of potential. It's not a hugely powerful performer, but we like the small form factor and quiet operation, plus the optional solar panel sounds promising.

It may not be one of Lenovo's more interesting units, offering the standard chassis and mid-range performance, but the inclusion of e-SATA as well as legacy ports like serial and parallel gives this unit a broad range of connectivity that will suit some offices to a tee.

A nice example of notebook technology in a desktop PC, HP's Ultra slim form factor PC is a good choice for space conscious businesses. There is enough power to get by in everyday tasks and the system runs quietly, too.
