This PC has a user-friendly case and the latest CPU technology, and it doesn't look too bad. It's aimed at gamers, content creators, video editors and just about anyone who has demanding uses for their PC.

Overall, the Aspire is definitely worth considering. It performed adequately in our tests, it's user-friendly, it comes with a big monitor and it looks good. It's great value, despite its poor graphics card, but this component can easily be replaced with a better model at a latter date.

The Aspire M3800 is a media centre PC that looks good and has plenty of features and CPU power. It's not perfect — it could still use more integrated features — but it's worth considering if you're after a PC that can be used for conventional work as well as for watching and recording digital TV.

The Altech Sputnik X2 is a good budget PC, or a good starting point for upgrading to a more powerful configuration in the future. We're disappointed at the lack of even a cheap graphics card, but the DVI output of the ASRock motherboard at least offers a digital output. We found it to be a little noisy for such a bare system, but overall it offers fairly good value.
