It has been a year and a half since Apple updated its budget desktop line of Macs, but a new Mac Mini has finally been released.
The range of Apple iMac desktop computers has been refreshed. There are virtually no aesthetic or design changes — faster processors, more memory and larger hard drives are the order of the day. Although the brilliantly designed Apple iMac rema...
It's small and inexpensive yet Acer's Veriton L670G is based on an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 CPU, so it has plenty of power for running the applications in your small office or large corporate workplace.
Business users who want a small PC that's well-armed for running the latest office programs will appreciate the Dell Optiplex 960. It won't take up more than a 33cm square on a desk, it will run quietly and it has the latest in hard drive and monitor...
The ASUS Eee Top may look like a toy, but it's actually an all-in-one PC with a touch screen. It can be described as an entry-level version of HP's TouchSmart PC -- it's nowhere near as powerful or feature-rich, nor is it as good looking as a TouchSm...
The just-released Beta 1 version of Windows 7 is a solid, fast-performing, stable operating system that appears to be just about fully baked and ready for prime time. It is much further along than Windows Vista was during its initial beta phase, and ...

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.
For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.
The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.
The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.
My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
